The Friday Dev Release – December 3rd, 2010
Welcome to the December 3rd, 2010 edition of the The FatCow Development Release. I will be discussing a little bit more about Base Assault this time, as i have not really talked about the specifics on this game.
So you have heard me talk about Base Assault for a little while. But nothing too descriptive has ever really been said. So in this release I will be doing two things. I am letting you know more about this game. And as a bonus you can reply to this, adding comments as to what features or removal of features you would like in this game!
So let’s start with the basics.
What is Base Assault and what is your objective?
Base Assault is a strategy game. Where you have a base where you build tanks and dispatch them to enemy bases and try to defeat them. or you can have one tank and upgrade it and upgrade your base’s defenses. Play the game anyway you can to win.
What is fun about this game?
You can build three unique Tank types. A heavy tank, a balanced tank, and a light tank, each of these tanks have special abilities and inherent stats per tank type. And you can upgrade your tanks or even the base through your base upgrade system. Including an upgrade for you to implement an AI in your tanks to create more automation and you do not have to baby your characters.
Will this be available for multiplayer?
Yes, this game will have local system split screen, system link, and including the support of Xbox Live matches. The current max players will be 8. And you can have AI bots in both the single player and multiplayer modes.
What kinds of game modes are available?
There are a few currently implemented. There will be the option for an all out free for all Deathmatch, an option for a Team Deathmatch, Free for all Capture the flag , and Team Capture the flag. The difference between team and Free for all capture the flag is that the Free for all mode has the flag at the center of the map and players fight each other to retrieve the flag to their base. Whereas in the team capture the flag mode each team is stationed at one base and try to break down each base’s defenses to retrieve the flag that is at each other’s base.
We enjoy any and all feedback to make our games enjoyable to all of you our loyal fans.
Regards,
FatCow Development
